Please visit: hgroatii.blogspot.com or complete an ebay.com search on Hall Groat II Instructional DVD’s to purchase the current DVD outlined below. Prints of this painting can be purchased at: hallgroat.imagekind.com Instructional DVD & Manual, Volume 1 Traditional Realist Oil Painting American artist, Hall Groat II, in his unique instructional DVD series demonstrates the techniques of the lost art of traditional realist oil painting. In volume #1 he presents five comprehensive demonstrations, offering nearly 2 hours of solid instruction. The demonstrations included are of compositions involving: three lemons, radishes, ballet slippers, railroad conductor’s pocket watch, and teacup & saucer. Through his innovative, step-by-step approach he outlines the process that was used by such 19th century painters as Edgar Degas and Edward Manet. Using an easily understood teaching approach, Hall reveals the secrets behind creating dramatic light and shadow illusions to compelling atmospheric spaces, all the way to rendering convincing three-dimensional illusions of form and space. The included DVD, along with the accompanying manual, present a concise step-by-step system, offering both the beginning and the professional artist the necessary tools to successfully create traditional realist still life oil paintings. Such topics are covered as establishing background variation and movement …

Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort of Joy: A Day Book of Comfort and Joy Very Enlightening! – A Neighbor – Houston, TX USA
This book is a must have for every woman’s library. It hits on several topics that are thought provoking and soothing at the same time. Women tend to do for everyone else first and then take care of themself last. TAke the time to read this book to treat yourself! This book is awesome!
Looked at one way, this is a collection of cheerful essays with homespun spiritual wisdom and housekeeping advice that satisfies our appetite for the nostalgic. Looked at another way, it’s a terrifying reflection of a society of souls so sterile that we take comfort in being told it’s okay to use scented bath products and buy flowers. Still, thousands of women have found meaning in the book, and they can’t be all wrong.

This book is more about abundance than simplicity. In places Ms. Breathnach does extol the virtues of simplicity and has you clearing clutter; in others she has you buying and hoarding and collecting everything, from fabric remnants, just in case some day you get the urge to staple lace to the pantry shelves, to autumn leaves for exuberant Victorian tableaus, (aka dust-collectors). These things are much more fun to read about than to actually do. I don’t want to tie little circles of fabric to the tops of jam jars; even when they’re bought that way, I’m the one who gets to cut them off and throw them in the garbage. Nor do I want to replace the buttons on all my clothes with cute ones, I curse enough if I have to replace one where the manufacturer did a shoddy job. I don’t want to know what decoupage is; and most especially, I really, really, don’t want to buy a hat to cheer myself up. Having hot mulled cider after raking leaves sounds charming (and I loathe cider), but the reality is that after raking leaves my back hurts, I’m exhausted and can barely crawl to the shower to wash the sweat and dead bugs off, and if I had to search for a hot mulled cider recipe I’d whack the nearest bystander with a poker.

Since books are for reading and pondering, the pleasure in this one is in doing exactly that, and it does provide a lot of it. The problem I had with it was its overall frenetic busyness, which is in sharp contrast to its meditative advice. If you haven’t already read it, go ahead, you know you want to, and somewhere in all its generosity and abundance you’ll find ideas that appeal to you and that you can realistically use. But remember, if you can’t keep up with the suggestions and images given for creating a perfect home, don’t feel guilty. If you can, you’re either a Stepford Wife or have a serious amphetamine problem. : This book features 366 essays penned from a woman’s perspective. Sample topics include gratitude, harmony, self-nurturing, positive body image, the importance of scented linen closets, and many others. Each essay sports a pithy quote from (surprise!) the likes of Kahlil Gibran. Viewed uncritically, it’s hard to argue with Simple Abundance’s earnest admonitions to appreciate life, in all its messy imperfect excellence. And the fact that serenity and happiness are each in dreadfully short supply can excuse some of the treacly writing. But Breathnach sometimes lapses into what can only be described as her “Martha Stewart on Prozac” voice, and the results are aggravating to the extreme: “if you’ve been hesitant to strike up a reciprocal relationship with your guardian angel, don’t be”. (What on earth can you do for your guardian angel?) Being acid is so unattractive … and shooting fish in a barrel besides. Read these feel-good essays every morning with the rising sun, a cup of mint tea, and a bluebird chirping on your windowsill, and you’ll be happy This book features 366 essays penned from a woman’s perspective.

Faerie Tale Theatre – Rapunzel WOW–all around! – Lucas_Mayo – Nashville TN
I love this addition to the series. Shelley Duvall is enchanting, in front of or behind the scenes. I am a huge fan of her work and have loved this series since I was a small boy.

This episode is stupendous! Gena Rowlands is phenominal as the witch. Wounded and human, this witch is more encompassing than most. Jeff Bridges is appealing to both children and adults in his effortless manipulation of charm. Shelley, well, she is as magnetic and stalwart as ever. The colors and gorgeously painted sets can transport back to a time when we all could believe in faerie tales.

There is a thread of magic which is rampant throughout these tales. The amazing casts, who basically GAVE their time and talents to make these projects come to life, never disappoint. I was a hardcore fan at 5 years old and I am still.

THANK YOU SHELLEY.
The only flaws in this fairy tale, as the others in the series, come from a low budget. The costume changes are few, the sets usually leave something to be desired. And with Rapunzel, that goes double. So what? It’s a fairy tale land, a realm where you use your imagination, and if you can’t, maybe you should try harder.

Every actor does a splendid job. Shelly Duvall shines as the innocent, unwittingly charming Rapunzel. She also plays Rapunzel’s mother, and does a credible job there too. Jeff Bridges plays both Prince and Father. As the father figure, he infuses a delightful humor into the role, and as the Prince, he brings a dashing romance that will have little girls and mothers everywhere sighing wistfully. Gena Rowlands plays the witch with range. One minute, she’s a genuinely loving mother, the next she’s a cold-hearted force of evil. She’s a villainess with heart, one that will scare the kiddies, but not scar them for life.

Watch this with your kids, younger relatives, or watch it to connect with your inner child. It’s a treasure to be sure. : A young princess is kidnapped by an evil witch and stuck in a tower where her hair grows so long that she ultimately uses it as a rope for a handsome prince to come visit her. Faerie Tale Theatre – Rapunzel
